Reflections then Resolutions

A new year offers a powerful opportunity for self development and developing good habits. Overwhelmed with where to start? Think "Reflections then Resolutions."

We are all so ready and anxious to plan our goals for the new year that we forget to first reflect on our growth. Instead of realizing how far we came, we become obsessed with where we are going. We seem to forget to show ourselves love for everything we have fought for. Sometimes we ignore the growth within ourselves. That is not to say that we shouldn’t look forward, but looking back is OK. It is more than OK, it is necessary. Reflection is the key to consciousness. When you look back, see how far you came and how much you learned. Those times in the past year may have been difficult, but the place you are now is long from where you stood then.

Show yourself the love you deserve. Acknowledge all the changes you made, the risks you took, and the obstacles you overcame. You did it and you deserve your own recognition for the good, the bad, and even the ugly. Don’t be so eager to run forward that you don’t take the time to see how much you already won and achieved.

Then set your goals for the new year! Remember that every day you are given a new chance to make changes to your life and become the person you know you can be. Need some ideas for your New Year Resolutions?
