1. Kitchen Story (American)

  • Why: great brunch spot, extensive menu, friendly service, 4 stars on Yelp, wait can be long during primetime hours on the weekend but short during the afternoon on a weekday

2. Yakini Q (Korean) 

  • What we order: all you can eat Korean BBQ
  • Where: 1640 Post St 2nd Fl San Francisco, CA 94115 | Japantown 
  • Why: all you can eat for about $22, attentive and friendly service, can get crowded but well worth the wait
  • Hours: 
    • Mon - Thursday: 5 pm - 12 am
    • Friday: 5 pm - 1 am
    • Sat: 4 pm - 1 am
    • Sun: 4 pm - 11 pm

3. Orenchi Beyond (Japanese) 

    • What we order: all you can eat Korean BBQ
    • Where: 174 Valencia St San Francisco, CA 94103 | Lower Haight
    • Why: multiple locations, you can reserve seats online, while you wait you can order drinks/appetizers at their outdoor bar, their broth is tasty and rich, service is good, and they have a relaxing environment

    4. The Little Chihuahua (Mexican) 

     

    • What we order: 1 carne asada taco, 1 super burrito, and a side of tortilla chips
    • Where:  292 Divisadero St San Francisco, CA 94117 | Haight
    • Why: multiple locations, known for their fried plantain and black bean burrito, great salsa bar, self-seating restaurant, offers gluten free tortillas, and 4 stars on Yelp
    • Hours:

      • Sat - Sun: 10 am - 11 pm

    5. Hard Knox Cafe (Soul Food)  

    • What we order: Chicken and Waffles with macaroni and cheese
    • Where: 2526 3rd St San Francisco, CA 94107 | Dogpatch
    • Why: 4 stars on Yelp, simple menu, food comes out quickly, generous proportions, great service
    • Hours:

      • Sun: 11 am - 5 pm

    • What we order: Dry fried chicken, string beans, and rice

    • Why: best fried chicken in SF, wait can be long but well worth the wait

      • What we order: White rice, all the mix-ins, seaweed salad, crab salad, 2 scoops of ahi tuna and salmon, edamame beans, jalapenos, nori, spicy tempura flakes, and their signature medium sauce
      • Where: 407 S B St San Mateo, CA 94401
      • Why: great for a quick lunch, fresh ingredients, lots of toppings and sides to choose from, offers the 5 Star Points reward, clean environment, and friendly servers

      • What we order: Dole whip with guava juice, Li hing powder, and mochi

      • Why: cool concept, helpful and friendly workers, delicious flavors
