Having trouble finding the right Winter Quarter vibey music that just wants to make you study/enter another realm of chill? Well, have no fear, Ellen’s and Tidani’s magical Winter Quarter Playlist is here! We are going to give you a compilation of some of our favorite Playlists/Artists to listen to when we are feeling those study vibes.
(Ellen) I haven’t always listened to music while studying and honestly, I still don’t always listen to music when I’m looking through notes or reading from a textbook, but I do find music to be very helpful during those long stressful study sessions when you feel drained, sleepy, and hopeless. Recently, I was cramming for my Psychology midterm (never cram guys it really sucks) and I was miserable; My eyes were dry and tired, my fingers hurt from writing, and my head felt like it was about to explode. It was as if I used my brain to its maximum capacity. I decided to take a break and next thing you know, YouTube worked its magic and made me land on a 24/7 streamed playlist and guess who got an A on her midterm? Me!
Usually, I don’t like to study with music because all of the songs on my Spotify playlists have lyrics. However, this playlist I landed on YouTube had no lyrics and was chill, calm, and relaxing. It made me lose track of time, and made me actually enjoy what I was studying. My head nodded to the beats while inputting information to my head! If you’re into feeling like a chill laid back hipster this is for you! God bless this playlist:
(Tidani) While I usually gravitate towards non-lyrical music/beats when intently reading an article or book, I do enjoy a good chill R&B track. Artists like Daniel Caesar (if you haven’t listen to his newest album Freudian, where have you been girl?), Sabrina Claudio, H.E.R, Mac Ayres, and Rex Orange County (who is admittedly more Indie), are on constant loop in my study playlists. Songs I would recommend from each of them are:
Get You (Daniel Caesar ft. Kali Uchis)
Confidently Lost (Sabrina Claudio)
Easy (Mac Ayres)
Edition (Rex Orange County)
We hope you enjoyed our list of chill study music! Remember to always take study breaks and to not be too hard on yourself! Good luck on Midterms everyone and don't forget to vibe out to our playlist :)
