How to Practice Self-Care
With our busy everyday lives, it could be easy to forget to take care of yourself. Practicing self-care is an essential part of regulating our stress levels and building confidence. Here are 5 ways to practice self-care for a healthy mind, body and soul.
1. Do something you enjoy
Whether that's reading a cook, cooking, listening to music, taking a nap or going to the gym. It's important to push ourselves to do things we actually enjoy before we get sucked into our everyday lives and routines.
2. Get outside
I don't know what it is about laying in the grass under the sun that makes me as happy as can be, but I wish I could do it all day. Going for a bike ride, hike, or even a jog around the neighborhood can greatly impact your mood and productivity levels.
I've recently tried meditating for the first time, and now I can't wait until the next time I have time to meditate again. Meditation helps to relieve stress and can teach you how to turn off your mind when you need to.
4. Treat yourself
You deserve it. Go buy food from your favorite restaurant, cuddle up in bed and watch Netflix. It can be a little reminder from yourself to yourself that you're doing great.
5. Have a spa/cleaning day
This is one of my favorite ways to practice self-care. Nothing makes me feel like I have my life together than a clean house and painted nails. Taking the time to replenish yourself and your space can greatly build your confidence and productivity.
